Waverley the last passenger paddle steemer in the world came into Tenby yesterday afternoon on passage to Milford Haven, she caused quite a stir and looked resplendent.

Ours is currently having a major refit Kingswear Castle. she should be back in service soon, I miss hearing her tooting and puffing away when I go into town.

In stark contrast we now have The World moored off the mouth of the Dart - what an ugly monster..

It was a great trip across from Clevedon! To see all the crowds lining almost every possible viewing area was quite stirring smile
Took me rather a long time to hobble up to North Beach car park to catch the coach back to Clevedon. Waiting for GF's photos she took overlooking the harbour.
Still on a high after the voyage. Spent several hours near a family, 3 generations and realised near the end Grandfather was another ex-MN gent. I had been half tempted to take my Discharge book along to see whether I could get a "souvenir" entry stamp, but left it at home. He rather wisely had, got the stamp plus a tour of the bridge. One can overlook part of the engine room, I'll dog out a photo, in motion smile

Sally and I made it into one of the press photos - Sally on left either aiming to get a photo or just having taken it, looking over the wall and I am slightly behind in the green sleeveless jacket

Sally said she would have loved to get some fresh fish Em! Think the last visit was just over 30 years ago

John, there were some nice photos posted from her Orwell visit.
I'm hooked now - will have to find another voyage to join. smile

Milford was absolutely rafted this afternoon we had to park a mile away. She came astern from the dock wall and in a large ark in reverse was doing about 10 knots. She's on an evening cruise tonight around Caldey and leaves Milford tomorrow for Llandudno and Liverpool. There was a bit of drama this afternoon the Angle life boat was launched and took someone off who was quite ill apparently.
