Interesting thread as usual. Like all petrolheads, I love roadsters. I have had a few since my MGTC in 1966. Then followed a few Spitfires, which I loved. Would I today? A Lotus Elan S4 SE followed; brilliant, but babies forced a sale. After a long break, I purchased a Mercedes SL, 129 series, too much a gentleman's tourer, but I bought another and collected it from Stuttgart. Then came the Boxster (actually 3), then 911 cabs, then Ferrari Spiders. Oh, I forgot the 3 MX5s and a Mini convertible. For the same price as a Plus Four you can buy the super Boxster GTS 4.0; well perhaps one secondhand as the wait is astronomic. The Boxster is faster, more comfortable, has a power hood, more toys, more reliable, better made, more practical and probably presently has better residuals (shock horror). So why did I buy a Plus Four and not a Boxster? You know why. The Morgan is more economical, far more class, fast enough, more fun, far less common, looks fantastic ... need I go on?

You’ve absolutely nailed it here. It’s not a new 718, it’s a totally different design and driving philosophy. To my eye, it’s functionally an 80-100k restomod made brand new just for you. I’d challenge anyone to find an equivalent for even twice the price. They’re fantastic and beautiful cars. This whinging, while perhaps as British as Morgan itself, has got to be a real drain for those partaking. You only have so many orbits around the sun. This is an unnecessary, low-to-no utility toy, that exists to spark smiles, share beauty, and drive joyfully. Any calculus for measuring the car built on solely quantifiable metrics at the expense of the unquantifiable poetry of a car like this completely misses the point. If pound for pound comparisons is what you’re after and your abacus isn’t balancing up and causing you to furrow your brow and shake your head disapprovingly, perhaps look elsewhere. If you want to smile more, laugh more, and invite more joy and romance into your driving, I can think of no suitable alternative to these new Morgans.

Everything has actually been said by the last four speakers. I am not as big a writer as Kerry, Ewan, Derek or Spancer.
The CX Morgan is useless but I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other car in the world.

Clemens, sometimes less is more smile

For me the eloquence lies in the amazing photographs yourself, Spenser and Ewan have posted on here for us all to share in the sheer joy you boys have for the marque clap

I agree Richard ... "sheer joy you boys have for the marque" says it all, as do a couple Spencer's lovely photos. I can't help but hope for better weather ...

ps. I've said it before, but an extra 200mm cabin length doesn't hurt either - especially if you are over 2m tall! wink

Hope this is the proper place on the forum to ask the following:
Has anyone seen a side by side comparison of a Plus Six (or Four) of model year 2022 with a Model Six (or Four) of model year 2023?
Or is there anyone on this forum that has driven both MY22 & 23 models and could provide information on their findings on the technical differences and how thee work out in practice?
Would the 2023 models still benefit from the SSL upgrade, given Morgan has addressed the suspension in their MY23 models?
MMC claims a number of improvements have been made in MY23 models. However, I didn't see any reviews of these latest models. Is there any reason why MY23 reviews of the Plus Series seem so rare?

I recently had the opportuniy to sit in the Ply Six of a friend.
It struck me that compared to my 2009 Roadster, the seating position in the Plus Six is high (One sits 'on', i.s.o. 'in' the car).
Can Plus Series chairs be lowered? Anyone did that?

Bert, I think the CX Seats are similar for the PlusFour and PlusSix. I am 2.01cm tall and so asked the same the question for my PlusFour as it would improve my viewing position when driving as well as not touching the roof when it is up. I was told they couldn't be lowered. Would be very interested if they could!

Anyone else actually tried that with a CX car????

I am 6ft 2" a tab under 16st (100kg) built like a wing forward, my Plus Six was the first Morgan I could drive in comfort and get in and out of without embarrassment. At 6ft 7" it says a lot about the CX model cabin that you can actually do the same, Demon Tweeks sell some excellent after market seats that could fit the bill if you want comfort over the originals.
