Hi Mike I didn't know you had the SSL fitted, I love the plus 6 but she is a bit low were scraping the exhaust quite a bit on our roads need to get underneath to see where its actually catching. Wev'e done about 800 mls so far on mostly A and B roads It's a pleasure to drive look forward to another meet up. Em

Hi All,
I have my Six booked in with Allon White in early August for the SSL kit.
To my taste the standard set up feels stiff at the front and quite spongey in the back.
As others have reported, not only does it feel bouncy, but a touch scary under heavy acceleration.
I’ll measure before and after ride heights and report back.

The ride is silky smooth no spongeyness no real bounce very planted under acceleration as long as the wheels are straight. The lady wife and myself are carrying a bit of weight plus we always have the dog with us. Unless there's a bit of ride height differential I'm quite happy with the handling . Em

Our Plus Six had the SSL upgrade last month undertaken by Williams. The result is a much improved ride and it feels ( to me ) that handling is also improved. I can not say that the upgrade would help prevent buckling of 19" wheels. I suspect the major factors would be determined by the shape and depth of the pot hole plus impact speed. I have not noticed a difference in ride height, but I have not undertaken any measurements, as our Plus Six has never badly bottomed out, even two up and luggage onboard. We are due a ferry trip next week, so it will be interesting to see how it copes on the ferry ramps.

I definitely had an increase in ride height after the upgrade, 20mm on average, the improvement in handling was a bonus.

I don’t suppose you have any of the original coil overs from your S5 as I have a really nasty one on the off side rear that could do with changing .

I had my S5 done at Williams - either they or Peter Ballard at SSL might have my old set, which had done about 12 000 miles

We measured Mike's car and mine there is three quarter of an inch difference in ride height even though there's sightly larger wheels on my car. Mmmm....

Larger wheels off set by skinnier rubber bands for the same overall diameter ?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
