Eat, eat, eat!!!

That's probably why I find my Sport so excellent. I'm the sort of chap who occasionally gets accused of eating all the pies (usually by the wife - I have to point out to her that nobody trusts a thin publican)

Can anyone answer whether the rear springs on a 4/4 Sport are the same as and earlier 4/4?
My 4/4 (which admitidly is upto 30,000 miles) rides firmly, but is certaily not uncomfortable. The car has a spare wheel and full bumpers and at times the significant weight of the lovely Lady Budster's luggage on the rack.


However; even unladen, I would not describe the ride as anything more than "firm"

I don't know the answer to that but have to say that my 4/4 Sport seems to ride pretty well. One thing I noticed when comparing my car side by side to my friend Geomogs Plus 4 was that mine seemed to sit a tad lower.....looking at the clearance from top of tyres to wheel arch.

I find the back end rides very well - certainly very comfy after my TVR.T front end patters a bit on rough surfaces ...

i dont know for the springs but the leaf suspension has 4 leafs
instead of 5 .Normally it must be softer.

The 4/4 Sport and the Plus4 SS both have the same 4 leaf leaf springs. Both have the same code on them... MRS0003L which suggests they are identical.

Went to the Belgian dealer this morning.The right front suspension spring was blocked ,no suspension at all.They also proposed free of charge to fit adjustable koni shock dampers at the rear suspension for a test.If not ok they put the originals
back.

Did the dealer explain why is was locked? Had the same problem on my new roadster. Very hard on the front. Turned out that the bottom of the kingpins were covered in thick black undercoat. This made the front stick. Was OK after cleaning/greasing. When I mentioned it to the Dutch dealer he said another possibility is tight bushes. Aparantly the factory switched from reaming to honing the bushes? On some cars they are too tight and freeze. I also tried lower tire pressure but I find the car then "bobs" more on the tire. Problem with that is it is undampened so it easily turns in continuous nodding (when going slow) With the front suspension working good I find 1.8 gives a better ride. Cheers J

It was tight bushes .Now the direction and the front suspension
are ok.But i am still not satisfied with the rear .With the koni
in the mid position it is better when the route if flat but very
hard when the route has some irregularities.I will try the softer position to see if its better.The problem is with the
leaf spring wich is not addapted to the 4/4 sport.It is the same
than on other cars but the 4/4 sport is lighter.
