My first Mog had stainless wires. Finger bashing job to clean but worth the effort.
The current Plus8 has alloys.
The new car will have stainless wires so back to the old regime. Regular wash plus wheels off to do periodic full clean with a wheel wax finish to help with intermediate washes. Digging out the brushes, pads stored away in readiness.one thing I made was a kind of cleaning bud with microfibre wound onto the lollipop stick “handle”. A good reason to buy Magnums to save the sticks!

I too have a magnum stash - best excuse ever!!!!!!!!

I use Dragons Breath wheel cleaner on my stainless wheels, spray on leave for 5 mins power wash off. Comes up sparkling and stays sparkly.

Many years ago, I was advised by the factory, not to power wash spoked wheels.
I can see some logic in that advice, but would welcome TMers opinions.

4 Morgans over the last 10 years all with s/s wires. Power washed them all, never had a problem.

I think that’s good advice for painted wheels because the pressure can take the coating off or get water under the paint. If I remember correctly recent painted wire wheels have stainless spokes but steel rims (I might be wrong or it’s the other way around) so it might expose steel for corrosion

I don’t think it’s too much of a problem with all stainless wires although I never take a pressure washer to anything on my Morgan as there are just too many gaps and opportunities for water ingress into nooks and crannies

In fact I very rarely show it water at all

I had to have a wheel "re-sealed" on Aldermog back in 2013 and was told by MWS that power washing spoked wheels was the main cause of the sealant band becoming detached and loss of pressure.

Power washing any car forces water where it shouldn't get. So you should expect consequences.

At the Mog I saw for the first time a non galvanised chassis showing rust. Not related directly to pressure washing, but don't do it to a non galvanised chassis.

I think you have to distinguish between high-pressure cleaning and high-pressure cleaning or explain what is meant by this - namely what pressure!

The difference between normal household power washer and an industrial Kärcher is immense!

In my experience, an industrial appliance can blow off type plates and sometimes remove paint. This probably endangers the sealing of the tubeless rims. But the "normal high-pressure cleaners" have much less pressure!

My device at least does not have (much) more pressure than a garden hose. In addition, the pressure can be regulated by the user by keeping the correct distance from the object.
