One headline today......An inconvenient truth.....you can't sell the green revolution to people who can't afford it.

If Lotus laid off staff every time they lost money there would be one bloke left sweeping an empty factory floor!
Nearly placed an order for an Emira last year but just wouldn’t get enough use out of it.

If Lotus loose shedloads of money on every car sold, does that mean their cars are a bargain for their engineering and engines?

MMC looks like a really successful business compared to that. Perhaps Lotus/Geely should take a leaf out of the MMC book  And produce a pastiche lotus 6? Both Lotus and MMC have the same issue - how to modernise and update their offering without losing their traditional customers. NNC have done it a bit better with a plus 4 that looks very much like the sort of thing they have always made. Lotus have had a second or is it third effort at moving from small luight sports cars to being a Porsche competitor. But they have made the mistake unlike MMC of abandoning their long term base by stopping the Elise. I am a Lotus fan. Was looking at a Lotus Elan s4 just last week. But I cant see a future for them with the present strategy. And what will be made in China isnt a Lotus at all.
