John Tayler made a bespoke version with longer wings at the side screens.

I can use it with hood down an without side screens to protect the interieur when we park the car for a short time. I did sent John a template and he made the special wings FOC.

I can imagine that and it's a strong point of John Taylor. We had quite a lot of communication and measurements and remeasurments when he made the cover for our 4/4. The fact that he did not replied my mails this year underlines the problems which we have on the continent ordering something from the UK. Items stay long at the customs and import taxes make it not attractive, I think the cover from John had become very expensive. Would be nice if he stated that in a reply, now I stopped my unanswered mailings and asked MorganPark, who delivered in a few days in The Netherlands. So, we have to rely more and more on our continental contacts. it is just reality.

You are right with the "custom problems" after the brexit.

I ordered the storm cover before the Brexit.

Two weeks ago I got some parts I bought from Eb*y. The custom and taxes have been paid to/ about Eb*y.

I had to pay tax/ custom fees again to DHL - it was a mistake by customs or DHL - but it's impossible to clarify

Since Brexit the parts from my UK suppliers raised about 24%.

To order parts from outside the EC became very expensive and sometimes you have to have staying power:
Last month the German custom "processed" an imported motorbike part for over 4 weeks.

Perhaps this is the reason why sone comanies do not deliver parts to the EC anymore - and do not longer answer enquiries


However, I have come to know John Taylor as a friendly and helpful business partner. There are sometimes tecnical problems etc.
Some weeks ago I had a chat by mail with John about some question about his storm cover.

And +1 for the Morgan-Park service!

I received my Stormcover from John Tayler for my PlusFour in January. Was a very pleasant transaction with John. The gift has also arrived well in Germany 🤗

Hi Clemens, I only had good experiences with John, he made the Stormcover for our 4/4 and he wanted to be sure that everything was okay, so I made several extra measurement s for him, and the product is good. Therefore I headed for him, but wasn't able to contact him. Checked the email on his website and in my mailbox. Was certainly okay, but no replies. So, thinking about Brexit too, I find out I could get one from MorganPark, it was there in 3 days! So why bother further?

I emailed John and got an email back pretty quickly.

The only thing I’m not sure about are the straps across the paintwork which will cause scratching.

Anyone able to confirm this, more visible on dark colours obvs.
