If you mean the welsh conversion company, they are hardly butchers. All their conversions bolt in using original engine / gearbox mounts. The cost is eye watering though.

Just watching it on iPlayer. (What they really mean)

Agree re the "throw things at the telly on the first section"
I like that they are doing something but that is about as far from the title issue as you could find. 10 mins on that outlying use case.
Sensationalist manner, nothing new, no real meat.

Perfectly up to the standards of BBC factual entertainment.
This could have been put together by a 12 year old with google.

The location was deffo Bicester Heritage where MMC keep some Mogs for driver training & experience days, even Mrs Cooperlady recognised it

When we last called in on our way back oop north in late May someone had just binned a PlusFour (wonder what the damage deposit was?) more importantly - we were told the Factory won't be renewing the rental on the unit

As an EV sceptic I half-watched the second programme. I thought the case was well made for hydrogen power (although I kept thinking of a conflagration of airships). No mention of bio-diesel type fuel (unless I was dozing by that stage). There was a segment on making substitute fossil fuel by grabbing the ingredients out of the air, but at 7x the cost of petrol it sounded like a non-starter (see what I did there...). Purchase price for EVs, charging time, range anxiety, out-of-order charge points etc, and general lack of charging infrastructure still sounds like a dead loss. No mention was made of the problems and environmental impact of end-of-life disposal/recycling of the batteries. And this recent news item https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-66310280 which blames one of 25 EVs on board the ship puts me off even more.

I beg to differ, I have seen some of their work and reversal process is not a straightforward task if required, also some of the welding leaves a lot to be desired. Only my opinion though.

They also failed to mention that approximately two thirds of a cars total carbon footprint in it’s entire life is just in it’s manufacture

So theoretically if we want to cut carbon emissions properly we need to stop making cars of any description

Now that’s a good argument to keep and run an old fuel burning classic!

What are the most environmentally friendly cars?
The ones that already exist.

Exactly

Sadly no business or government is going to come clean as car manufacturing is important for economies and jobs

I’d have an EV if they were cheaper to buy. That up front cost is the big problem. An EV with decent range would fit virtually all our needs as home charging is the cheapest anyway. Our longest drives are nearly all in the Morgan.
Another puzzle is why the cars are packed with power draining tech. Electric seats, heated seats, electric windows for a start. But then people expect them as standard! The 2030 deadline will probably be extended as the infrastructure and car cost are going to hold it back.tax changes WILL come in to replace fuel duty. Toll roads, black box pay per mile too.
It will be interesting to see the back pedalling when synthetic fuels and hydrogen are scaled up to commercial levels.
Huge amounts of £££££ for manufacturers to go EV plus infrastructure charging and generation. I wonder how those pro EV politicians will change their views? There is a lot of following the eco route image they take but silence on realities.
