Went to the Culford car show near Bury St Edmunds with the good folk of FolkMog. Some interesting stuff and one that shows that just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Yes a great day at Culford with the opportunity to engage with many folk I haven't seen for a while. The Ferrari stand was well occupied as in previous years. The blower Bentley was very well presented and not the usual oily rag finish. More pics.

Short unusual narrow angle V4 engine with single OHC in this long wheelbase 1926 Lancia Lambda.

A very interesting run out with Hawki and Ted the dog. First a coffee stop at a Cafe run by prisoners from HMP Hollesley. A bit odd but the sausage rolls were ace.

Then on to Shingle Street an old fishing village on the shingle south Aldeburgh. Barren and magnificent.

Wonderful drive this evening visiting a gang of my wife's friends, some of whom she has known since elementary school, staying at the beach for the week. I'm actually allowed to call them "The Girls". The ride home was beautiful, under crystal clear skies with an amazing quarter moon above.

No, but took the 90 to Williams yesterday, to meet up with Alistair (and collect some legacy computer parts). Good chat too of course.
Fist person I met there was John Winn, so a good chat in the courtyard.
Missed Henry and Richard, though I did see Richard towing a trailer with the TE20.

Dropped in to a local Car Show behind The George in Finchdean, in support of the Rowan's Hospice and Cancer Research UK.


Then off for a bit of shopping.

Shortish drive to well attended MogFriends event at the Middy (mid Suffolk light railway). A rain shower on arrival and then dry although threatening for rest of day.



A bacon bap for late breakfast and a pint to wash down picnic lunch.



Interesting talk on the history of the Middy followed by train ride pulled by diesel shunter on recently extended track. Both steam engines being temporarily out of commision.

A further talk of the new engine shed packed with, for the most part, donated machine tools and equipment.



Next year two steam engines on the full near kilometre of track should be available.

Washed Belle so a run into Felixstowe to dry the car & see the sea. The clutch is a lot easier minus the return spring.
I saw a stunning Jap or possibly Matchless engine 3 wheeler driving out of town as I drove in.
Great to see and hear one in action as always.

Drive out to Revivals rolling road at Thriplow with Richard V6 as passenger.

Pleasant chat with Cain who enthralled us with the very tidy race kitted Plus4 he had brought along.
