Joanna Lumley.....
I love it when at journey's end..
" You have arrived at your destination, darling"
I sometimes break the journey to stages to get the effect!

Love it.

cheers

I used to have a tom tom with Joanna's voice. My kids loved it when we got to Plymouth docks for the Roscoff ferry & she said "turn right snd take the ferry darling"

Mmmmmm Miss Lumley love I have Kim Cattrall inside my Tom Tom and sometimes take the wrong route so she can be firm with me blush

I've tried mounting the suction pad to the dash, works well but worried about leaving marks on the paint, the windscreen, but with a scuttle mounted mirror and the satnav, it blocks out too much vision and a beanbag in front of the gear lever but that makes it too difficult to see easily.

I like Nicks idea of a mount stuck under the dash so I think I'll go down that route.

Of course.......if I had a "Lovely Lady Budster" I wouldn't need such modern technology! I do still carry the odd map in the car just in case.

Which reminds me...storage. I wanted a storage net on the passenger side of the gearbox cover to store maps etc and a couple on the bulkhead behind the seats for odds and ends. Got some from MUD-UK which look as though they will do the trick.

Hi

I tried all of this and finally opted for a strip of velcro just under the top lip of the dash - sorted

Thanks for all the great ideas folks!

Went for another "cool" drive today - at last!: dry roads and no salt drive

Decided the clip-in under-dash mount is just so neat, that I can do without Clarkson's hectoring banter. Come the stressful foreign foray, I can always opt for the speedo-mounted solution.

Of course, if I was lucky enough to have La Lumley on my SatNav ... blush Devil6

Or how about Michael Holding. I once read a critique of his commentating which suggested that he should have been a doctor. So reassuring are his tones that he could tell you you had 6 months to live & you'd be happy about it. Hard to believe that he was once the most feared fast bowler in the world.

I have just fitted a clock in gap on the left in between steering column and dash, I fixed a bracket to the column height adjusting lever after first removing the toggle and using the 1/4" hole as a mounting
