After a year driving a new Plus Four I've finally lost it with the terrible, bad design that allows the doors to shut onto you when parked on a slight slope, or a bit of wind or even movement in the car. I haven't seen the mechanism inside the door but dealer says its a spring ball affair that is supposed to hold the door in position, the spring must not have enough tension. Has anyone found a solution? HELP! Talking to other owners it seems all CX cars suffer. I'm desperate to improve it this having knee trouble myself and worse the wife has grease on her trousers!

Yes it can be tightened, use an 8mm ratchet spanner, place the spanner inside the door were the metal slider goes, it’s a bit fiddly to get the spanner on and only tighten it a bit at a time and check, keeping checking as you tighten, you don’t need to tighten were it fastened to the inside of the car. Hope this helps.

Yes it can be tightened, use an 8mm ratchet spanner,. So there is scope for trad tinkering on a CX. Not all is lost.

Just seen a mates new CX plus 4. I think he got it in April. I could not believe the cheep grab handle (strip of cut leather and Black on a creme interior) and the "elderly unfriendly" internal door opener. Also moving the sliding window finger pulley from the front edge to the back edge makes it much more difficult to locate and operate. The chassis is moving forward in technology while the door furniture moves backwards. So disappointed that these sort of details are not properly considered for one of the target markets. is KOS's. Knackered Old S""Ts. Do Morgan not have a Customer "What do you think" forum before launch.

My 911 RS had door pulls like that but not luxurious leather, they were nylon.
It’s difficult to comment on certain things like pulls and knobs and many other items as designers and engineers are having to work within very tight constraints.
For example, the doors in a Morgan are very close to the occupants and injury to caused to them by any parts within in the event of an accident is a careful consideration

I’ve just had a new Plus Four. Nice car! I’d like better stowage though. No door pickets but ok with that for added safety. Small glove box. No “ trinkets” or map stowage. The option for lockable storage beneath the rear shelf not there. Where to store the jack/ wheel nut spanner and hammer, tyre goo can. Under the spare wheel is sealed off by a screw on panel so potential lost there. The power sockets are usb and in the far back of the glove box. Out of the way instead of easily accessible. Other than that I am impressed with the car. Only done 750 miles so far over 2 weeks or so and still learning.

Well my wife is expecting delivery of her new Plus Four end of Sept. She plans to use it daily (not that she goes out daily) but let’s see. If she can put up with all its suggested foibles then that will render the rest of you grumpy old men. But I won’t hold my breath

After disassembly of the door to see the parts involved I can confirm that there is no adjustment to firm up holding the door open. The mechanism relies on a spring that pushes a ball into a half round cut out on the curved bar. I wonder if the traditional aftermarket version (pre CX) could be retrofitted without spoiling things. In the meantime don't park your CX facing uphill!
