Do the keys have a sender built into them? My 94 4/4 didn't but my S1 roadster from 2006 did. If that bit falls out the immobiliser will not be deactivated. Try comparing the key with the spare.

No just standard Ford keys, the immobiliser light does go out when the engine spins. Same with both keys.
Does the immobiliser work on the ignition or fuel?

Hi Folks

So I checked the relay and the power to the fuel pump both ok. so looks like its the Fuel Pump. The fuel pump is in 2 parts, top part site under the locking ring and a seal on top of the tank. It looks like this
https://www.ebay.ie/itm/202776343479?fits=Car+Make%3AFord%7CModel%3AMondeo&hash=item2f366973b7:g:7YwAAOSwYKldfH4h&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4Ewqj40EKYNsgBRByLmTjU0rVBi2C3PJ3U%2FY6bIE4TzzXnWYSvg9yqkaB6E%2BGEQ0Sysld9qXnkMsUx3tospGD06WMIfCAdiYD%2BZ9bATV624EBhG7GR0jFvBh7U%2F9ew1GajOtlTSlrzY3vR2GdDeyCoQwTetRRDWttoHViVZU5F4lBDvvJQbnuicGNFks9vTe5CNT22mets4KcQY8PiNE2D2MYVi6OdvFoP8PUvQQ8X4qjdtKSUZWDfzMR4%2FpFB05kp2eO8v9SD2hLDnHQ%2FvEFTs90FM%2BYus8rbwdNWStHsjw%7Ctkp%3ABFBMrrHjq8pi
The bottom part with the pump and the sender unit seems to be attached to the bottom of the tank.
Does anyone know how its attached and how to remove it?

Many thanks

Gordon
PS I anyone could tell me how to attach photos I'd include them.(still getting the "its too big" message)

It makes a quite distinct sound if you listen in a quiet garage.

If not it could be a failed pump or check the relevant fuse. Assuming the swapped relay was ok. It usually is the relay. It's a common problem.

If you can hear it, start looking elsewhere.
Can't hear anything. Looks like the fuel pump, I guess its a complete in tank unit?

Thanks
Gordon
