Hi!
My M3W stopped while driving. The engine was running, but there was no "transfer" of power to the wheel. I stopped the engine.
I checked the belt from the bevel box. It was OK. I checked the timing belt. It was ok.
Trying to start the engine and turning on the ignition, I can hear the fuel pump and then I can hear a "high pitched spinning sound" from the starter, but it does not engage. I have pushed the button behind the oil tank without any effect.
Road assistance got me and the M3W back home. Any suggestions to what I should check before contacting the dealer? (I am not a super skilled mechanic so...)

Could it be a near flat battery due to regulator/rectifier packing up?

Don't think so.... It is 2 years old, always on a 20A tickle charger, and the voltage doesn't drop much while starting (when it did start). And when I measure it now, it seems to be ok.

Unfortunately it's most likely the Centa rollers have failed. An engine out job unless you have been Bleazeyed.

If the engine was running but no power to the wheel I bet it is the Centa Rollers. Contact someone to do a Bleazey job on it if you do not have the ability.

Centa rollers failure, put in gear and see if you can push it easily, the engine will not turn over. If this is the case it confirms Centa roller failure.

Apologies, brain fart, put it down to oldgit Obvious really given starter motor turns flywheel which is coupled to engine via Centa rollers, or not in this case doh

Good news is that with Bleazey conversion the housing can be modified with holes to allow access for checking and possible future replacement of drive rollers, with engine in situ.

Thanks for the "diagnostics tool"! It is easily pushed when in gear... Not sure if the Bleazey conversion is available from the dealer or anybody else here in Norway. Anyway, thanks! To be continued! :-)

As a minimum you could ask your dealer to modify the Centa transmission housing as per Bleazey site and images here, whilst they are replacing rollers.
