I don’t think I have seen such a slow market for secondhand Morgan’s in a long time, some cars have been at dealers for months if not a year for sale.. Secondhand auction prices and private ads sales have dropped by up to 20%..

To me it seems the demand for Morgan’s across the board has dropped significantly, I expect for a variety of reasons. I have heard Brexit and export complications have been cited, there was a time when the price differential between UK and EU market prices would see a lot of cars getting exported which would keep prices up but if you now have to pay vat, fees and registration challenges on export I expect that has put people off and further surprised the market.

They now look very cheap compared to their competitors such as MGB etc when they used to be significantly more expensive.

Strange times but there hasn’t been a better time for a new Morgan owner to enter the market in a while.

Depends what end of the market you're looking at. My 1972 Mog was £16,995 when purchased in 2018 - they seem to be about the same price now. My 1981 MGB purchased earlier this year was £4,000

The younger followers will just put it on a PCP. There is little concept of ownership anymore.
In some ways those who benefited from flexible company car schemes of the 80's-00's and a 2 year swap cycle had it good!

Also the stock market valuations these days (if you perhaps wanted to sell a company on with a nett asset value) prefer companies with subscription/monthly revenues and sticky customers. I am not saying a recent Plus F/S experience will make all customers sticky after the issues around the brakes/suspension etc. but if you can use them to shift tin/aluminium it is a good thing?

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

I'm not sure that you have the right Sophie, wonderful though the Duchess of Edinburgh is. I don't see her sleeping in a VW Campervan and wild swimming in a loch....but I could be wrong...

I did meet that Sophie and her hubby about 15 years ago. I respectfully thought she was quite tasty in a HRH sort of way.

That Sophie used to work in the local pub down in Kent in her late teens, Yeh, she lived in the big house but certainly wasn't the landed gentry!
