Hello, today I drove my 2017 4/4 out of the underground parking at a hotel. The driveway was so steep that the rear undertray was sitting up and it is now dented on the bottom left side. There is also a small crack in the longitudinal direction. Can anyone tell me what exactly is above the rear undertray and could be damaged by it? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what you mean by under tray.
Somewhere on here I did a post on replacing one of the rear boards, above which is the fuel tank.
Ah found it. Here

Hello John V6, no, the parts book doesn’t help in this case. I try to make some pictures later this day. Thank you.

Hello IcePack, I mean the panel below the license plate in which the rear fog light and the reversing light are installed.

Tom, that rear valance (tray) is made of some form of plastic. If you remove the spare wheel or cover you can see the inside. As you mention it's moulded to support rear fog and reversing light's. I doubt the internal damage will be any worse than external. Depending how bad It could be repaired with an internal layer or two of fibre glass cloth painted over black to match elsewhere. The exterior could be made good with filler then primed and painted with spray cans. It may be easier to remove from car for this work although it will require removal of overriders if you have them. The lamp internals are on bayonet fittings, so just a quarter turn anti-clockwise when viewed from back will allow lamp and wiring to be removed. The outer lens part stays in-situ fixed to valance with three screws.

Tom, Richard beat me to it. As he says looking from the spare wheel area you an see the back of the fog & reversing lights so nothing there. But do have a look at the rear spring hangers just for piece of mind.
Best I can do without removing spare. You can see the back of the fog light on/in the valance.

Hi Tom, sorry to hear! First I had to think about the metal piece under my rear bumper with licenceplate and reversing lights on it. I scratched that several times in underground parkings, lastly in a Hotel Parking in Charleville-Mezieres.But mine is metal and can easily be bend back. (SS numberplate frame takes the scratches..). These ramps are often nasty steep and not always broad enough to make a diagonal approach...! I now think to know what you mean on your young 4/4, and I think that you don't have to worry about further damage. Repair it or order a new one, you have to repaint it anyhow! Good luck!

There's not much under there Tom, the rear spring hangers and over rider brackets on the end of the chassis, plus the rear crossmember, which is strong enough to act as a jacking point. There may have been something sticking up on the ramp, because in that situation, it's usually the tailpipe which catches, unless you have a side exit exhaust. The rear cover is purely cosmetic.
