Some years ago I owned an S3 Aero which I thoroughly enjoyed. Bought nearly new from Berrybrook, another forum member owned it after me.

With the rise in values I hadn't looked at Aeros for quite a while, but the market is cooling and my interest is once again piqued.

Question is - How are used Aeros as an ownership prospect ? Specifically are there many dealers that can service the Aero cars and what is the parts availability ?

The market is definitely cool at the moment - though there's signs of life this month.
Maybe the pressure on interest rates is thought to be easing?
(It's not just affecting Aeros :-/ )

I'd think that the car's history is as important as anything - and with Aeros there's a chance the car will be known here, and perhaps the owner too.

As for servicing - who do you trust?

Even though it's a significant hike, I take mine back to Williams, so that the same person is looking at the car year after year. Each Aero is likely a unique spec. I suspect they all have their individual foibles too, so maybe it's best to remove the additional variable of a different mechanic looking after the car?

Parts availability for the earlier models of Aero (pre the 4.8 V8 models) is becoming more of a challenge. Lead times seems to be the issue as much as anything else. I have taken the view that if something needs doing it is likely to be off the road for a bit of time. Given the distance and public transport challenges getting home from Williams it's a pain. As highlighted the access to Aero experienced mechanics is also a factor.

Still love 'em. Hard to beat a natural aspirated V8 in a light car.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

That's a shame, maybe even a deal- breaker for me. I'm used to running classic cars and can get anything for my 1956 Jaguar by return post.
