Lovely story on Regional TV tonight. Company Director in new Jaguar stopped by Police doing 147mph. I think it was the York by-pass (A64). He came on the telly after the hearing and declared that the Magistrate wouldn't listen. It wasn't him, he wasn't there. The two policemen were lying about the whole thing..................He was banned for less than a year, and departed by saying that - well it's only a ban and I'm off to live in Spain.
So who was lying............

Back to judgements - the choice car for old men (Silver Foxes) used to be highly polished Rover 200/400's. I now believe, based on several M5 surveys done by me that the car of choice is now the old shape Mondeo, also highly polished This category of driver bowls along in lane 1, rarely exceeding 70, and is never seen in lane 3. Or am I just making assumptions? grin2

People like that make my skin crawl. Theres an old Scottish saying my late Dad told me THE TRUTHS THE TRUTH AND A LIE IS NO MANS TRUTH . I never forgot it .
I often watch police camera action and what they have to put up with is way beyond my tolerance level . swear

Hmmmm........not sure where this is all leading!

Reminds me...last summer I was driving back down the M6 in the middle lane (I was overtaking...honestly!) doing around 85ish when there was a flash in my mirror and the factory Plus4SS shot past me at well over the ton. Does that put him in the same category?

I can't work out why this thread is in the Welcome Forum. As it keeps going on shouldn't it be moved to "The Malvern Arms"?

I wonder if any of you remember a television series from the nineties? It was titled A to B. Tales of Modern Motoring, by Martin Parr, I think. Anyway it was a very cruel piece about people and their cars. It has entered into our lexicon somewhat. Getting a result (managing to overtake - in our Polo with three up); defering, moving over so as to be overtaken; and" We see ourselves as Vitara drivers."

I went to a close mates funeral in 2010 and thought the area was 40mph it was, but one short streach was 30mph . My mind was on my mate and I was caught at 38mph ( mobile camera ) .
I went to one of those talks they do and it opens your eyes to your everyday mistakes teaches you what you do not know ( yes thats correct ) What stunned me was they said tail gate drivers think its a normal to drive that way , they dont see any wrong . We could all do with a yearly refresher .
One small tip when turning right at certain junctions we leave our wheels turned to the right , they pointed out anyone hitting you in the rear may send you into an oncoming car , but if your wheels had been straight you would go forward , less chance of a crash . idea thumbs
