Talk Morgan Forums Morgan Sports Cars Classic Morgans (pre-CX) Bangers and Cash

For those who follow this programme the format will be fairly familiar. The Matthewson family pick up various classic cars from around the country and sell them at auction in N Yorkshire .

This Thursday 28th September at 20.00 on Yesterday TV Channel on Freeview there is a piece about a Morgan +4 DHC being sold by John and Jenny Macdonald. no-one has yet seen the edited footage so we have no idea how this will turn out , which is probably a bit disconcerting for them, but hopefully it will show the process in a reasonable light.

I think this is the car that I indicated was for sale on the forum here , about a year ago.

Thanks for the heads up Andy. Don't watch the program very often. Girlfriend, even though she has no real interest in motors, probably watches it more than I.

Thanks Andy, I do normally watch the show so look forward to seeing this episode. Derek Matthewson hasn't been very complimentary about Morgans, or their owners, in the past so I hope he's got nicer things to say this time.

Personally speaking Mathewsons would be the last on my auction house list to sell my vehicles or automobila. They put so little effort into descriptions and portraying an item and especially some of the drivel that is stated on the program. I was interested in bidding for some small items but the distance from home to their premises is a fair way, so I called them and asked if I was to be the successful bidder would they send it at a charge obviously. The categoric answer was No and end of conversation.
I also remember on a past show that one of the family members commented that he never knew an E-Type had 3 windscreen wipers and did not know of any other either?(considering the number of Jaguars and Morgan’s they have seen). That’s entertainment!🤷‍♂️

I may watch, but can't bear that Mathewson bloke. The more he speaks (and christ doesn't he prattle on), the more he shows himself up.....
