I need some help again, as my 4/4 is currently housed a little further away.
I would like to make a new cover plate for the radio slot.
So it would be very nice if 1 or better 2 (3) Morgan drivers could tell me the distance of the two mounting holes of the original cover.
Many thanks in advance!

Sorry, I‘m not able to answer english. But as we both are German, I hope our motherlanguage would be okay?

But I want to change the original plate that covers the radio slot when no radio is installed.
I remember that this cover is fixed at two holes in small tabs (one on each side) in the plastic housing for the radio.
I am planning to drive to my 4/4 in the next week and have a look.
I wonder which Morgans had this plastic housing under the dash for the radio? All trads??

A try:
in my car there where two small stripes down in the hole, they part the hole in three smaller ones. This stripes are the fixingpoints for the original cover.
To fit the radio, you must undo the stripes. And then they‘re gone. No fixingpoint for the original cover.
But there are „fits all“ covers for the old DIN-hole at Halford, ATU and so on available. But in real live it lives out of sight. And Morgan and original as out of the factory? Just this cover?

Nochmals Danke.
**************
Thank you René!
I will have a look at it as soon as I get to my 4/4.
I remember that I saw two small side flaps, each with a hole in the plastic housing. In my case, a black sheet metal cover is attached to these holes with two sheet metal screws.
The two lugs were part of the whole housing and protruded into the hole. The rotary knob for the heating flap is also located in this housing.
Possibly a similar system as you described: These tabs must be removed somehow to mount a radio. Maybe they are broken off? I wanted to use these two holes again for the new cover to get as much support as possible for the cover.
I was interested in the distance between these two holes.
I had hoped that Morgan had also used this cover on other models. Thinking that was probably a mistake-.
That's what all Sir.
doesn't mean
All are the same.
Thanks again.

Hallo Bernd,
my MOG is from October 2018. As you write your fixingpoints are where the must be, but at the sides of the hole. When I remember right the fixing at my MOG for the cover was downwards. And it was cut away when I collect the car. Now, they are gone.
But about the fixingpoints at your MOG. They are in place until today. Have you ever vistit the factory?
Just bigger parts like doors or bonnets you can‘t change from one MOG to the other. I‘m in fear that just this holes aren‘t drilled with a named and standard measure.
Gruß René
I‘m shure, the noise I noticed is the laugh of my british friends over the Channel. About my english and the German Overengineering.

Here is a photo of my radio housing in my 4/4. I would be very interested to see what the radio housings in other Morgans look like. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/10/16/Radio-Konsole_800x600.jpeg)

Instead of a cove plate maybe a little box that screws in ... seems a pity to waste a potential storage space for sunglasses and gloves 🙂

K That was my original idea ;-) You are right You can never have enough storage space for towels etc. That is why I have already made new door plates with storage compartments and an elastic pocket on the tunnel trim! But now I'm planning to screw on a USB socket for my smartphones with navigation app. I think the existing radio plug with matching adapter is well suited for that, because the cable could stay there. Besides, I don't like to change things that I can't restore to their original state.

A decent double USB outlet is really useful .... mines tucked on the inside of my glove box keeps the phones and all the cables out of the way. Map light switch is next to it too.
