They are beautiful .... always great design values from Aston .... understated and not gimmicky but so lovely.

The Aston is a great bit of kit, thanks for posting.

While BMW grilles are getting uglier and uglier, Aston Martin has found the beautiful point between tradition and modernity.

I agree, the scaled back grill on that model, and balance with the rest of the front is far nicer. Every time I see the AM V8 F1 pace car on track I have to look away. It's like a cross between a Dyson and a Perch, so out of proportion and unlike Aston's Gentleman product positioning.

Ignoring the current V8 Vantage, imho Aston have been producing some of the most attractive cars on sale for quite awhile; not necessarily outright beauty but a blend of aesthetic appeal with a purposeful stance and poise.

The original Vanquish still makes me take a good look when I see one and both the original V8 Vantage and DB9 have aged very well. Neither overly adorned with frippery but both managing to still look special.

I still do not understand the "flourish" behind the top of the front wheel arch? It just seems to break the line up to no benefit ?

Also cannot wait to see the expression when one of the small black lips on the bottom of the front ahead of the wheel gets whacked by a sleeping policeman and the bill is produced!

It's because it has a pretty large clamshell bonnet and they needed a feature to break up the joint between the bonnet and the panel behind the front wheel. They would never have got an acceptable fit between the two panels - so they have used this feature to disguise that.

I had a DB11 for 3 years and had to have the bonnet adjusted twice as it moved about a bit.
