Arrived in Bury StEdmond last night on business, my host took us out for a meal after which we went here…

Officially the smallest pub in Great Britain, “ The Nutshell.”
Among the many interesting nick-nacks adorning the place, there hangs from the ceiling a 400 year old dead cat found in the walls of the building.

The only other patrons, from Montreal, the rock band “ The Damn Truth”, they were performing round the corner. Altogether, a surprisingly splendid evening, especially for a Monday!

Yes and great beer Ewan as the brewery (Greene King) is just walking distance away.

If can get business done and dusted sharpish, we might shoot over to the museum in Duxford for a flying visit before returning home to Scotland.

Yeah, one of those weird photos, the long armed man isn’t me though, that’s my host, I’m the one with the long AND curly hair. The other long haired dudes are the rockstars and they absolutely behaved like it too, totally made our evening. I’m paying the price now though for burning the candle at both ends!

After there we crossed the road to what must be one of the nicest Wetherspoon’s in the land, a huge beautiful building, completely void of atmosphere and populated by what my daughter described as “creepy old men”😂

That's wonderful that you took your daughter with you in your time machine. It must have made a big impression on her. I listened to the band on youtube. The sound of the band, your very warm and cheerful photo, everything indicates that you traveled for two days to 1973.

I guess most places would fall short in the 'atmosphere' stakes after that place.

Made it to Duxford for some more time travel, this really is a world class attraction, the spitfire did several flights during our visit. It’s a shame my Time Machine can’t make more of it, we’re off already to catch an ordinary plane.

Thanks for sharing your experience at Duxford, it really is the business when it comes to aircraft and armoured kit, glad you enjoyed it.

The picture of the dual Spitfire you have managed to catch a very rare beast above it, she looks like a Jackaroo to me, a rather special passenger carrying version of a Tiger Moth. I have only seen one before at an aircraft Rally back in the 60's.
