When we did a tour of Europe in 2010, I set up a twitter account and posted updates by text message from a basic phone. Friends and family followed the postings and the 140 character limit wasn't a problem (normally!).

Good luck with the Adventure, whatever the means I would be very interested in a live update as the tour progresses.

"Sticky" means the thread stays (or sticks) to the top of the thread list and is not superseded and pushed down by newer threads. Because of the nature of the thread, this way it doesn't get lost down the list.

Great News Everyone joy .

Donations have now passed the total raised last year at our Waddesdon Event.

Thanks to any contributor here who I have not yet managed a personal thank you (Due to knot knowing the TM name of the donator)

Does anyone know what I would need to do (if anything, insurance wise or other) if I was to offer pre trip rides in the car locally for a donation (not to you guys, obviously) drive .

A friend also suggested offering a part day ride along the trip route where a Train Service runs along the coast, to allow the passenger to get back. I already have one R100 owner who wants to travel in car from Liverpool back home (on route)

Your starting date 10th April is my birthday......

Do you have your (planned) itinerary yet?

I will definitely be thinking of you then Dave.

Itinerary is set now and overnight stays all booked early due to close proximity to the Easter School Holiday.

Day 1 Home to Mundesly Norfolk
Day 2 To just east of Hull via Ledgerwood & Humber Bridge.
Day 3 To Seahouses Northumberland.
Day 4 To Perth (hoping to pop into Russell Patterson's)
Day 5 To Buckie
Day 6 To Wick - A Dearth of Patrol Stations around this next bit.
Day 7 To Inchnadamph via John O Groats & the North & North West
Day 8 To Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye
Day 9 To Oban
Day 10 To Ardrishaig near Lochgilphead Kintyre (on the way back north)
Day 11 To Stranraer
Day 12 To Carlisle
Day 13 To Poulton Le Fylde (near Blackpool)
Day 14 To Caernarfon (quick visit to Lifes Motors before a circuit of Anglesey)
Day 15 To Aberporth
Day 16 To Port Talbot
Day 17 To Ilfracombe via Severn Bridge
Day 18 To Penzance
Day 19 To Paignton
Day 20 To Fareham (my old Home Town)
Day 21 To Dover
Day 22 To Home (around South & North Kent.
There are a few other Bridge Crossings and a couple of Ferries (King Harry, Dartmouth & Tamar)
I still need to check if there are other Dealers on the Coast Route.
I still need to plan where to make Lunch & Rest stop on the way.
I hope there are no Fords lurking on the Single Track Roads.
It all sounds easy when you say it quickly. I just hope it goes reasonably well drive
