Just watching the news about the storm.
Hope all our members are safe down on the South Coast especially Devon and Cornwall.
Take care .

We have been lucky so far but relieved we live 500' AMSL - 24mm rain during past 24hrs and the Barometer hit 955hPa last night but back up to 970 this morning and climbing, others on the coast and river have been less fortunate sadly.

That Barometer reading was similar to the reading when we had the Fastnet Race tragedy down here.
Good luck to you all out there.

Most schools in Devon & Cornwall are closed today.

We live about 2 miles from the Solent coast right opposite the Isle of Wight. Windy here today but we escaped the worst of the storm, record low pressure though for the 27 years we have lived here. A dramatic change from the record high last summer.

Non event here in Norfolk. Little wind and mainly light rain although it's been persistent. I think because the depression is right over us.

We had a windy night on the coast of Suffolk Richard and a short power cut as the overhead cables failed again. The Orwell Bridge is closed since midnight.

We are in a cliff top bungalow at Portscatho. It was Stormy overnight, but now has gone through. Most of the wind was offshore, and so the sea wasn't so bad. We had a small tree down on the drive so after breakfast, half an hour with two saws made short work of it. Home tomorrow.

A very wet night, but not that windy, because as Richard V6 states the depression was over us in Salisbury.
This morning it was calm and dry but now, as 12:30 the wind is picking up and the rain likewise. Rain radar shows a lot of rain to the west, so I expect surface water flooding in places. We live at about 80m AMSL with a 100m ridge between us and the Avon Valley, so the Wiltshire Avon has to be seriously flooded before we worry!
Downton and Ringwood are another matter.

A bigger concern in our village is tree damage and leaf mush on the roads.
We cannot stay in as the horse has to be brought in from its paddock this evening.

We are using Carolines AWD tin top....

Someone posted this today of Brixham Harbour and all the Fleet is in - in our 44 years down here I've never seen the like.
