I use Bilt Humber. They do a good range of products. Any overspray of the underseal etc can be cleaned off with white spirit. It does not harden and chip so has a sort of self healing property.

They were normally based on a wax oxidate John, but I have been out of the chemical industry for a long time and technology marches on.

Lanoguard sounds like it is based on lanolin , which is the oil derived from sheeps wool during the washing process.

Yes lanolin & I'm guessing they emusify it like cooking marg so it sets up a bit as the water evaporates. Just like the camping marg we made in Kenya though with nicer fat in the kenyan case.

I guess the way ahead is Lanoguard, it British and good for Farmers!

As has been stated the reviews online are very positive.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Morgan vehicle preparation prior to the application of Lanoguard?

Most videos show jet washing the underside of the vehicle prior to application.

My intuition says this would be inappropriate for a traditional Mog. Whilst the chassis is galvanised,
could the water travel internally and find the wood?

Any thoughts or comments welcome. It's an open question?

I think there are far too many nooks & crannies under a Trad Morgan to ever consider jet washing. And applying any type of underseal over dampness isn't a great idea. Not only that but the flat centre section under Trads, i.e. the floorboards, stay clean, and so the wheelarches & running boards take all the road debris. It's a tedious job taking the wheels off and cleaning under the arches, buit the rears are a simple enough contour, as are the running boards. However the only way to properly treat under the running boards is to remove the exhaust system first. The front wings are complex, with inner wings complete with various holes, and that's where the time will go. Remember also that later Trad chassis are not galvanised.

I just use aerosol clear waxoil or sometimes the variant with black paint mixed in (watch where it goes though!). This seeps into all the nooks and crannies being very thin out of the can. It will soak into and through any hidden trapped dust/muck. It also has creep properties to cover future stone chips. Best done in the summer when there is no moisture to be trapped though.

Ditto for waxoyl. I wash the underside with a hose & then let it dry off before applying. I have a large sheet of cardboard I put under the car to catch any mist that falls down onto the drive.

Dry brushing with the wheels off gets it acceptably clean but is a grotty job, if you do end up washing - bung the Mog in your garage with a dehumidifier for a week before waxoiling, as others have said aerosol version very easy to use

Isn't the Lanolin version water based ?
