I am trying to locate a set of torx screw bolts for this plate which according to Haynes manual are type 3 which are one countersunk and 2 pan head. Rimmers cannot help but thread diameter would be great. This plate must be removed to change the water pump. The countersunk one was very difficult to remove even after using heat to free the locking sealant as the countersink had bonded with the back plate. Sadly the pump I replaced has developed a noise so I will have to change it. Morgan 1990 plus 4 M16 engine. Plenty of this high tensile type of torx screw bolts available but I would rather have a set on new ones ready to fit along with tread lock.

Cheap set of digital calipers from Aldi/Lidl would help here to measure the diameter of the existing fasteners

If not, your local engineers merchants should be able to help out

Thanks Arwyn, I have some digital calipers but thought someone would have the answer without me stripping the engine down to remove and measure these screw bolts so to rebuild it back quickly.

Car running very well but I had problems at the MOT due to emissions so plan to get these sorted out during the winter along with the water pump. Never a dull moment with Morgan H278 TRP. With lots of miles

Hello Arwyn, Just to let you know the only way to do the job is to strip it down and as luck has it I can obtain the torx high tensile screw bolts from a local engineers merchant as they stock all diameters and lengths both pan head and countersunk.
If anyone replacing the water pump on the M16 engine use locking fluid on the bolts holding the plate. Plus always use wet and dry 220 grade paper cut to the back side of the adjustable timing belt roller to prevent this slipping. This information normally comes with the new timing belt along with the wet and dry disc. I have all the instructions if anyone needs them if buying a unboxed belt.
