The design with the exception of the Morgan style radiator is not unpleasing on the eye, and I'm sure will carry a limited edition price tag, which hopefully will generate considerable added value over the mainstream products and bring some much needed additional financial resources to support the company's long term survival. Very necessary revenues. As with other low volume producers like Caterham we have seen prices rise, as they try to recoup the increasing investment necessary to be compliant in a very ever demanding and changing legislative and environmental consideration environment. I just can't see how Morgan would survive going forward with finite manufacturing capacity to produce a 'cheap car' and still recover its imbedded costs and the necessary development programme. We are no longer in the manufacturing world of pre Euro 1 type of regulations, when even then Morgan had to withdrawal from certain markets like the USA because it couldn't meet their regulations
I don't quite understand some of the commentary, Morgan's history is littered with examples of unusual vehicles being produced, some as design studies. others made production in non traditional materials for Morgan with closed top designs, almost the exact opposite of open topped motoring associated with Morgan. Maybe Morgan throughout its history realised, it needed more than the trad/CX model, its traditional base range to survive.
My only hope is that they produce cars that they will support through available spares supplies to ensure long term ownership enjoyment.

^^^
Just to be clear, what has been announced is:
"... a future yet-to-be disclosed collaborative vehicle project." " Further details will be released in 2024, during Morgan’s 115th year."
The pictures now circulating the internet are just mockup responses.

Well its having a desired effect, people are speculating and talking about a potential collaboration, some of the cheapest market research Morgan could undertake, a simple few words and then sit back, watch and consider the response.

I think they could predict the response from many on TM! Doom, Gloom, the end of the world is nigh etc etc

Well I think good luck to them. They have moved the brand into for me silly pricing & really need now to come with a top end product. My fear is what will the ICE ban means for them.

Certainly now Vietnam trades with the whole world; if I look at various items of clothing and shoes that I have, not to mention household items, I would find several "Made in Vietnam". . They created their own car company not so long ago and it was very smart. Vinfast. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jonath...lion-to-break-into-the-global-ev-market/ I think something like the EvaGT would be good. When you look at Aero based cars I think the traditional styled Plus8 model outsold the various Coupe/SS/Max/S5 by quite some margin. So making an S6 shape CX model would seem a tiny gain over something like an Eva or +4+ ?
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

From what I've heard of the new chassis it could certainly carry a modern body successfully without disgracing the family name. Worth remembering that when the current shape was first made it was a 'modern body' quite up there with contemporary design ... just that they kept making it until it was smashingly retro 🙂
Agree that an 'entry level' trad would be a seller ... modern reliable motor of about 100/120 bhp ... back to roots basic '60s/'70s interior (ply/vinyl/rubber mats ... light, simple and engaging to drive .... hang the history and tradition on that car .... build a modern-bodied CX that can still trade off that history and and tradition of craftsmanship where it suits .... turn the Super 3 into the EV offering ... mould's already broken (quite successfully) and it's already positioned as a 'lifestyle' vehicle.
Survive the (not looking quite so definite now) shift to EV using whatever small-manufacturer exemptions and possible synthetic fuels that can be leveraged.
May you live in interesting times! 🙂

Just for fun, here is what ChatGPT (a generative artificial intelligence system) and Dalle-E (an artificial intelligence image generator) think MMC might be up to: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/11/10/image.png) ChatGPT describes this as follows: Here is the image of a future Morgan car, designed in the style reminiscent of Pininfarina. This conceptual design merges the grace and elegance of 1960s British sports cars with modern 21st-century technology, featuring sleek lines, curved fenders, and a flowing hood, along with contemporary elements like LED lighting and advanced aerodynamics.Asked for something harking back to the 1930s simply moves the car into a Dickensian background: ![[Linked Image]](https://www.tm-img.com/images/2023/11/10/image3ef2acbf2aca068e.png)

This conceptual design merges the grace and elegance of 1960s British sports cars with modern 21st-century technology, featuring sleek lines, curved fenders, and a flowing hood, along with contemporary elements like LED lighting and advanced aerodynamics. Most of the cognoscenti agree that Matthew Humphries, the young apprentice designer the MMC hired to address (salvage?) the Aero I after it failed to be taken up as they hoped, copied the 1937 BUGATTI ATLANTIQUE TYPE 57 SC and succeeded on reviving some Aero interest. The creations of Ettore Bugatti, the acknowledged Michelangelo of the car design art form, are worshiped by all car designers, especially youngsters aspiring to that trade. Ettore is an icon to them. Here are images of the the original Bugatti creation along with the copy (there are many others) I like the most, the CHRYSLER ATLANTIC. BTW, the most popular concept car in American automotive history. I am not. per se, a fanatic vintage car fan But I am sucker for Art Deco autos as are we all, whether we know it or not. Can't get much more art deco for the last few decades Morgans in their classic shape. I understand the three remaining Bugattis Atlantiques would sell for 40 million a piece (and at that point who cares what currency?). ETTORE CHRYSLER ![[Linked Image]](http://www.gomog.com/TEMP/CHRYLSERATLANTIC.jpg) gmg This 1995 Chrysler concept is the most powerful of the copies AFAIK. Chrysler claimed the 4 liter engine (through a strikingly advanced back axle) topped 360bhp unmodified, and had a "very low" weight which cannot be confirmed as yet. Sadly, Lee Iacoca had left Chrysler 2 years before. The new Management settled on the PT Cruiser instead.
