Hi, Im new to this forum so I may ask some silly questions!

I've got a 2002 Plus 8 which requires a new battery, it is located under the bonnet but is very limited on size and height, Any suggestions what size battery I need?

I had an Odyssey battery on mine. 2002 car like yours. There was one on it when bought so don’t know the actual age. It lasted about 10 years without problems and replaced with the same. Not the cheapest but they are good and have a good reputation.
Check if you need screw in posts if buying one though. I re-used the ones that were on the original.
I’ll see if I can find the battery details. I might have posted them in an older topic here. Passed all paperwork on when I sold the car earlier this year.

James it can be confusing to new members but posts relating to steel chassis trad Plus 8's such as yours belong in the "Classic Morgans (pre-CX)" section. The one you have posted in is exclusively for aluminium CX chassis cars which presently includes only the Plus Four and Plus Six.

What we need is a few moderators who scan the forum and can switch threads like this to the correct section. Not that it happens very often.

As I said initially I am new to this forum and sorry if I posted on the wrong section, I posted something else on the more modern Morgan section and got politely told that I was on the wrong section, maybe someone could point me in the right direction where I should be asking questions for my +8 2002??

Hi James, It’s exactly as Richard said “Classic Morgans pre- CX” or in “Maintenance and servicing” if that is more appropriate.
Not really a hanging offence if you get it wrong, it’s just that the people you need to see your posting may well miss it if you put it in the wrong category.

I tend to use the following

Home Page
First block
Malvern Arms - general chat about things non-car and life being just plain odd.
Vehicle Talk - Discussion of non-mog, BEV, and other cars/bikes

Second Block
Classic, Trads - your Plus8 probably fits best in this section. You will get more visibilty from Trad experienced people.
CX cars is intended to cover the current/modern Aluminium chassis Plus6 Plus4 cars.
Aero is for the Aero BMW V8 Aluminium cars. Slightly confusing that there was also a BMW/Ally model called the Plus 8 (2012-)
Maintenance is sharing how to refit the bits that fall off, it's popular.

The next block needs you to be a member and have made a small contribution (button top right) and it contains a few that may have some slightly more contentious content. It stops us being indexed with naughty expression by those annoying internet spiders. https://www.talkmorgan.com/ubbthrea...ums-you-are-required-to-register#Post180

You will find more in the Welcome section.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.
