I love the mechanical changes and the Alpina engine is something special, I am trying to research more about these - I don't know if Morgan ever produced any documentation or brochures specific to the GTN (probably not) but I am curious as to what Alpina did with the engine, and all the details.

Espicially as I can't drive it at the moment - it'll keep me busy! wine

I drove the company demonstrator but had 'she who limits revolutions' on board so no chance to extend it. I remember well the sound of the side pipes though. Sadly I'm ashamed to say that I added to the 'kerbing' of the front alloys as I couldn't judge the front end. hide

Hi Nick, interested to see you have traded you S1 which clearly you have put a lot of work into for GTN. I am just joining the journey after owning and improving my plus 4 4 seater over last circa 14 years ownership to add a new Morgan to the garage. Have always loved the Aero but 2 seater car then not practical. No issue now, did think about new Plus 6 but chap at golf club let me drive his Aero S1 - it was fantastic - now hooked. Seriously looking for an S1 (to use/ drive rather than store - touring in particular). Now the S1 or GTN version? Price difference seems about £30k more, for racer engine (suited for touring or racing), hard top, nice paint scheme and hard top. What’s your thoughts Nick? Also looking for spare S1 single hub Oz wheel/s. Appreciate your thoughts. Many thanks Andy

It is a difficult decision for sure, a standard Aero is a wonderful thing and there are some really good ones on the market at the moment (including my old one!) - in fact I don't recall a time when so many mint S1's were available! So it is a great time to buy one.

For me I fell in love with the GTN as a teenager watching it on Top Gear, the colour, the interior, the engine, all the upgrades, exhausts and exclusivity factor all make it feel rather special and a bit of a unicorn, for me it is the one I have always wanted.. again it is very unusual that two GTN's are for sale at the moment, Shooter's (for sale with O'Kane Lavers) and Richard Thorne have one, so there is lots of choice which is a good position to be in - rather than waiting years and years for a car to become available!

I posted up pics of the spare wheels by the way, if its of any use. They are slightly different to the standard ones (think they are pre-production ones), just deciding if I go for them or not as believe they are abroad.

Feel free to PM me if you have any further queries, I live almost next door to Allon White and they have the cheapest S1 for sale at the moment, Autologix have my old S1 Aero for sale, Krazy Horse have a few and Berrybrook I believe. Oddly they aren't all advertised in the same places, so worth looking at them all before making detailed enquiries etc and see what your taste is, they are very specific to peoples colour/interior choices.
