Now, despite years of caution, we have caught it after all. Despite the 5 vaccinations in May, I had almost all the symptoms for 2 1/2 weeks.  This is better than not being able to feel any symptoms at all (e.g. without vaccination).

This is a good description of my malady - had it for a week What is chest congestion? Chest congestion is the result of inflamed air passages, or bronchi, in the lungs. A chest cold results from the same virus as the common cold and usually presents as a runny nose, sinus infection, or sore throat before settling into your lungs. But now that Covid is endemic, what’s the difference to a common cold and does it matter as long as it’s not life threatening. I’m done with testing, just going to get on with it.

I think it remains unpredictable. A neighbour picked covid up on a river cruise and spent six nights in a Romanian hospital with breathing difficulties, and got home at a substantial cost, with the last three weeks of the holiday ruined. So don't be com placent.

My 79 year old Dad contracted in late September and is still in hospital.

A friend of ours and his wife caught it and he had the standard feeling rubbish fortnight but after two years she can barely walk and her breathing is dreadful with depleted energy levels to match, a very sorry case of long term covid.

I caught it eventually a few months back after never having it, it in itself wasn't overly bad - hangover style headache and bit of an irritating cough, what floored me was the UTI that I got afterwards 1 week of covid vs 6 weeks of UTI p...... razor blades, i'll take the Covid, the vaccinations did their job of reducing the severity of the symptoms in my case, the numpties I work with some of them on the 6th batch of C19 moaning that it didn't stop them catching it! You really can't help but sigh with some folks!
