Hi All,

A couple who are friends of mine are offering to sell me their 1934 3 wheeler. JAP engine, beetle back #D852. I had some modifications for racing back in the UK before it came over. He's owned it since 1979 but has not been on the road since 1982. The engine turns over. It is going to need some gentle restoration. The rear of the wood frame is rotted but the wood is there for templates. I'm a woodworker so that does not worry me too much.

I don't mind a project but my question regards possibly needing parts, tech manuals etc. I will join the UK 3 wheeler club if I do this but thought I would post here. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi, I have been racing pre-war 3 wheelers in UK since 1970, so there is a good chance I may know of the car before it went to USA. Also, I could put you in touch with someone in USA who is a MTWC member and very knowledgeable about 3Ws in USA. PM me.

The MTWC is a terrific club with much technical information in its monthly magazines since 1945. The mags are available as a CD and there is an index of technical articles on the club website for members. It also has an excellent spares scheme called Mogspares which is run by dedicated volunteers. Not everything is available all the time, but it's a good starting place.

Thank you all. I have put in my application for MTWC. As you both mention I hear great things about it. Tony, the car arrives tomorrow along with quite a bit of history back to the UK. This is an old photo of it with the UK license plate. When I have a chance to go through the records which includes the last UK owner I will PM you. I understand it was raced at some point in the UK.

Hi Paul, The photo did not appear. It has to be posted via some other platform. I have not done it myself, but there are instructions somewhere on TalkMorgan. If you send me a private message we can swap email addresses and send a photo that way.

Tony,

Sending my email via PM does not seem to be working. This is my public email from my website. Feel free to use it.

Paul, Thanks for that. I have emailed you. Probably best to amend your message to delete the email address as this is a public forum and scammers can add you to their list of recipients for dodgy emails.
