Ssal the stitching with a light rub of beeswax . I checked my side screen drain holes with an interdental stick. Both were clear

Ok it would seem the blocked drain was not the main cause.

There’s more water ingress and I can see that the leather on the sill already has a tide mark.

When I open either door I notice water pooled on the stainless threshold plates and is rolling in and down.

Do any of you suffer with the same??

It might seem strange that I’m trying to understand the cause but I’d like to point MMC in the right direction or it’s likely to come back not being fixed

Hi Viper, I only see that amount of water ingress if I am over enthusiastic with the hose when washing the car. Is the water ingress happening when the car is stationary, ie left outside overnight in rain or does it come in when driving in the rain?.

On the Plus Six there is a 10mm wide one piece rubber seal ( D profile) that goes from the inner upper front edge of the door along its bottom edge and then up to the height of the door catch at the rear of the door. I have found this to be quite effective, but I am unsure if this same type of seal is fitted on the Plus Four.

I did find that the side screens on our car did not follow the upper door contour very well, this can be seen if someone holds a bright light at the bottom of the outer sidescreen while you are inside, I found I had gaps of up to 10mm in the areas where the side screens slot down and secure. I purchased D section neopreme and glued them on the sidescreen alloy securing sections to seal off the gaps.

Lastly is the front of the side screen fitting well in the windscreen pillar seals?. You can get a fair amount of water through that point if the sidescreen is not fitting well.
Rgds Dave

Thanks Dave

It’s both but more water ingress when the car is stationary. There are D profile rubbers around the doors themselves

Anyway, due to the water damage to the leather it’s going back to the factory where they can hopefully sort it.

Hi Viper yes i get water in the same area as you and yes my leather also has tide marks. It has had extra D seals fitted to front of door by dealer but i am not convinced its water tight as water still appears in chrome strip under door. Window drains were also full of mastic but was removed by dealer at “first “ visit. I know of at least one other with a similar problem.

Ah ok that’s disappointing as I was hoping this was a rare issue.

Will see how it progresses but it might be necessary to run a sticky piece of rubber along the inner edge of the stainless strip to stop water travelling in.

Hello, exactly the same issue on my 2021 over rain or when I wash the car 😢
I blend a little bit the upper font of the black part of the side screens (the front angle) and there is a bit less water but still too much ….
Did someone found a solution please ?

Insert rubber channel here.....it stops 90% of water.

I’ve run a bead a transparent silicone seal in the grove and this has worked quite well.
