I have tried various brands and types of grease over many years on my 4/4 but the best so far is the one used during years 2023/24 .

I had to struggle this week however due to low temperature/high viscosity when the extention tube of my Wanner grease gun popped off in use ! - So spare gun used to complete the job.

I had never heard of this grease but on looking it up, it appears to be for the marine environment, typically to lag onto static exposed parts like wire ropes etc.
Personally, I would not think it best for king pins where the grease is mainly enclosed and needs to be a bit more mobile, so not surprised the grease gun blew apart on a cold day.
However, each to their own, as they say .

I've come across it before as a semi liquid grease used in vintage motorcycle gearboxes such as Burman and Sturmey Archer.

For kingpins and bushes, I use link and pin grease which is sold for the link pins on earth moving equipment. About 3 quid a cartridge I when I last bought some.

Can't be arsed loading a grease gun from a pot of grease so I use a cartridge gun adapted with a flexi hose and a clip on nozzle.

Me too. I use cartridges though I always have a tub of grease around. Long ago my kids bought me a battery operated grease gun for Father's Day.
It requires one less hand to operate which can be used more wisely elsewhere in the process as it needed. My mog trips are far longer than the standard
greasing interval (1000 miles) so I bring along a small grease gun with a rigid extension.

I use standard wheel bearing grease, everywhere I can find a grease nipple. smile JHS2 used to use white lithium grease. Such choices are unimportant IMHO.
Very much like which sticky lubricant to use in the steering rack.
