A pretty boring other car and huge compared to the MGB. Also many people say it looks great but to me it looks pretty ugly although it is slowly growing on me, or I am just getting used to it.
It turned up as a new car a week before the MGB was delivered for me to put some km's on before getting ready for engineering, I had kept the MGB registration going so could legally drive it.
The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is very heavy compared to other cars I owned. It is also the first car without a clutch pedal which I really miss, I know everyone says get an auto for the boring commuting type driving but I never felt the need my previous car was a Skoda Octavia VRS with 6 speed manual.
The good thing is you can plug it in and get about 80km range, it generally says 60km range after charging but we live at the top of a hill and I think getting back home muck up its average usage calculations, however I have done 100km on just EV mode probably due to not needing any for the first 4 or so km's leaving home. On the highway it is rather quiet and hard to tell whether it is using EV or petrol engines apart from the gauges on the dash, it will also generate a stack of battery going down hills and then drive for a while afterwards as an EV. It is extremely comfortable and probably using a bit less petrol than the Octavia on a trip and certainly less is town when charged, however electricity has just gone up again

. It is big and can fit in a lot of stuff. The cameras are great for parking etc. The head up display showing speed etc, is very handy and flashing at you when above the limit is handy as it certainly get going even though it doesn't feel like it. One handy feature is the cruise will read and follow the limit signs, but you can override it. For example driving along a country road with a 100kph limit it will read road works 40kph and slow down to 40kph, unfortunately afterwards they didn't have a sign 100kph, just "End Roadworks" so it will sit at 40kph until I override the speed.
The bad thing is in my opinion it is so boring to drive, I want a manual and a real clutch. It has a stack of different EV driving modes to play with but I am still trying to work out if I like any of them, easier to just put in D and pretend it is an automatic. No spare wheel is a worry, although in over 40 year of driving I have never had a puncture on the road, always seen a nail in the tyre once home and then sorted it out at the local garage.
