BST has always been a highlight of my autumn. Sunshine, sand, speed, and fish and chips. What was not to like.

In the last week a regular car event on the south coast has been cancelled due to becoming too large for the organisers to control, it had been running for many years. A large Father's Day pub meeting and an annual summer car show near me have both ended for the same reasons. There are others that I fear for, especially some of the New Year's Day pub gatherings. I know of someone who runs a directory of car events and he recently said that he's getting less entries because the organisers of the ones that are still running don't want the publicity.
