You can see the slotted rail just by the main hinge fixing, by your shoulder. There are two each side, but one is hidden in the photo, behind another stay. Adjusting these will move the whole hood rail back and forth.
( ignore the additional horizontal strap pointing rearwards; thats my homemade hood prop.)

Excellent Doug, thats really helpful.

This could be the answer to what I've suspected/felt was as a twisted hood frame?

I'll study the effects adjusting these points on the nearside to see if it brings the hood into alignment, and if that in turn helps the nearside hood catch latch neatly, and more critically if the catch now holds when it's having to deal with a little less hood tension thinking

Looks promising, much appreciated thumbs

Right, thats much better....

My passenger side pin never worked which was really annoying, you could see light though the seal and no amount of catch adjustment would get it to hold the hood tension. Ok, so I'm still using Morgan's terrible MG bonnet pin idea on the divers side, but I may delete that too in future as my chrome Triumph catches do the job perfectly on their own.

The hood seal to the rear deck is finally nice and snug and watertight, the whole setup is far more secure, and releasing the thing is now a lot easier.

Happy with that thumbs

Has anyone found a replacement for these latches... the receptacle part on the rear body panel?

Gary, try searching for classic UK cars, for example...

Good morning Montegue and all others over here,

we know the problems with that hood release lever and we developed a solution.
It works very good, just as an idea for you.
