BST has always been a highlight of my autumn. Sunshine, sand, speed, and fish and chips. What was not to like.

Although nothing like as longstanding as the Brighton event, similar overhead and insurance costs also killed off these two ... In the last week a regular car event on the south coast has been cancelled due to becoming too large for the organisers to control, it had been running for many years. A large Father's Day pub meeting and an annual summer car show near me have both ended for the same reasons. There are others that I fear for, especially some of the New Year's Day pub gatherings. I know of someone who runs a directory of car events and he recently said that he's getting less entries because the organisers of the ones that are still running don't want the publicity.
