The death of a long time sailing pal has left me with the job of disposing of his 2009 Lexus IS250C convertible.. Lovely car sweet as a nut and likely worth only £5k. Ideal hack for someone who puts their own soft top away for the winter. Likely I will get told off for putting it on here but I am trying to help his 80 year old widow.

Very little trade interest in a convertible in February so I am struggling.

Had I sold the 4/4 that might have made a good replacement - certainly easier for ingress/egress!

We already have 3 cars and a bike for two of us or I would have it myself. Its an ideal alternative to the likes of the SLKs or BMW soft tops.

Howard, sounds like the perfect replacement for your old Merc ?

Had a chance to briefly check out the car this week. Its registered as M20JFC first reg august 2009, model IS250C SE-1 Auto. It has MoT to 12 sept mileage around the 110k mark ( I couldnt find the button to display full mileage so I am adding his typical annual mileage to the last MoT one).

Condition is pretty good. The car needs a wash and has three small paint defects which are shown on the photos I will send you if you let me have an email address ( file size 120MB). Two are 2cm size where paint has come off plastic and one is at a panel join, again small. The two front wheels need a refurb, again shown on the photos.No dents that I saw. Upholstery excellent. Engine starts first time , no oil smoke and is uncannily quiet at idle. I put the car into forward and into reverse without issue but I didnt have time to drive it. I dropped the convertible top and raised it again - no issue. There were no warning lights on the dash.

I knew John well and we often chatted about cars. He would have mentioned it if he had a significant issue with the car and he never did. He loved it - best car he had ever had in his view.
