Hi
I have been looking at a mid '80s Morgan, and it has its wing mirrors positioned on top of the wings, rooted where the indicator lights are, rather than the more commonly seen door mirrors.
Are these a thing? Are they limited to certain models / years?
I think I prefer the look of the wings without mirrors to be honest, any thoughts about how easy to remove and plug the fitting holes?
Cheers
GM

There is a 1964 Morgan on Car and Classic with wing mirrors. O https://www.carandclassic.com/l/C1670829 So might have been usual. I am sure more knowledgable members will know more.

Hi GM and welcome to TM. It's not unusual for earlier cars to have wing top mounted side mirrors just behind the now optional wing top sidelights.

That is why they're called wing mirrors! I remember in the late 70's lamenting with my then boss the emerging trend of fitting the wing mirrors on the doors, meaning you had to turn your head to use them.

My 1956 +4 had wing mirrors at birth. I have photos of it from back then. It also had trafficators! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2023/04/02/SCN_0083.jpeg)

As stated, it was the original factory mirror-placement location. I don't know when the practice ended. My late-December 1968 completed 4/4 left "The Works" with them in early January 1969. Filling the holes should be fairly straightforward, I suggest removing the wings to fill and refinish them. Good luck..

This "time warp" 1988 4/4 currently for sale on eBay has the mirrors on the wings. Although the Mercedes badge was also fitted by the factory, make of that what you will! ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/02/18/1988-ebay.md.jpeg)

My '64 +4 four seater has wing mirrors. I just cannot get used to them and am considering adding door mirrors. I find it very difficult to determine distance.
