On this later,Series 2 wide body (I think!) , the gap from the speaker 'pods' to the bulkhead/door panel is much wider -

Also, at some point the fuse box was 'squared off' as it no longer fouled the bonnet when closed.

I hope you are enjoying the GTN; we need more pictures..... camera

Genius! Well that definately clears it up then (love your speaker covers btw).

This image of GTN#1 is pretty conclusive I think:

Definately a narrow body, so the only difference must be the roof is wider to accomodate the soft-top being fitted at the same time - so perhaps there are some minor differences but definately not a "wide" body in the sense of an S2. cheers

I do like it when a mystery is solved - only problem is now I need to do some real work on the GTN!
Will have to get some pictures up over Christmas wink .

xmascheers James

In fact I have just found an error I made!

I bought some old magazines from when the Aero was first released over Christmas, reading through I found one of the very first early press/production cars (wearing V8 MMC at the time) had... 3 wipers on a Series 1!
Interestingly the same magazine reviewed the Aero a few months later with a proper review rather than a first-look, and the same car/reg (or very very similar spec as the paint looks a different shade) had 2 wipers. So there may well be some 3 wiper Series 1's out there.

Everyday is a school day laugh2

Just need to find some GTN reviews/literature now..

Interesting that GTN 11 fuse box is angled to fit inside the bonnet without catching. GTN 10 is squared and doesn’t catch.

Makes you wonder yet again the order in which they were all produced 😀

I think my brain hurts the more I think of it - lord knows how they do it! rofl

I did however get confirmation from Melvyn and the original owner that GTN 11 was the last one produced, and the last ever Series 1 made which was nice. Of course none of them seem to be produced the same though! laugh2
