Nor did I. Just cleaned up and replaced as no wear or damage apparent.

I have no plan to replace the seals. That's when I've finished cleaning the valves. What an awful job, only one more pair of valves to do today.

DaveW had the right idea in leaving this job for another Day!

Similar upper inlet manifold gasket material for Cyclone 3.7 V6 on Roadster although all in one. Did in fact buy one but have kept unused for spare as original found to be fine as above, when changing spark plugs. Kit FEL-PRO MS97214 includes throttle body gasket.

Finally finished the valve cleaing on my GDI. Piped both the vents into a catch pot. Test drive up to Carperby 70+ miles yesterday. So far all is good.

Well done John.

I wonder how many miles before we have to do it again frown

I plan to leave it a couple of years / 10k miles before checking.

Thanks Mark.
At least I'll know that any buildup on the valves has come down the guides!

Found this online…as looking to buy a GDI +4 for my Dad

https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/any-concern-of-carbon-build-up-focus-2-0-gdi.357106/

Is that the easy solution to carbon build up on the GDI engine…

Its is a high millage engine. In the USA and that is what they do..
