I’m planning a French trip and contemplating using a Sanef Liber-T type automatic toll tag which is supposed to fit to the screen behind the rear view mirror of most vehicles.
My CX Plus Four (22 model year) has the electrically heated screen with elements in the area suggested.
This so far as I understand is not an Athermic screen as referred to by the tag suppliers but I wonder if the electric heating elements would cause issues with the Tag communication.
Has anyone experience of this? If so would it work positioned in the small area without elements at the left (or even right) top corner of the screen rather than the middle?
Otherwise I believe simply holding the tag out of the window may be a practical - if irritating - solution….. so Question to any CX owners in France - how do you deal with this to best effect? Thanks in advance for comments from any with actual practical experience.

Not in France nor a CX owner but my Plus 4 has (I assume) a similar screen.
The tag only works when you hold it over the screen if the roof is down or out of the window when it rains.
I have had the tag for some time & find it saves a lot of time on the busy auturoutes.

We've been using a Liber-t Tag, was Sanef for years in the Roadster (s) which have the same type of heated screen, never had a problem hood down or up, our clip is mounted very low on the 'screen next to the Crit d' Air sticker, this is to remind the boss to remove it when we stop off anywhere

We used to use one for France but the Italian Telepass has now gone international so I sent the French one back.

I made a velcro strap and attached it to the top of my sunvisor so that with the hood down it could face forward above the screen. With the hood up it pressed against the hood material but it always worked.

The new Italian Telepass is similar in size and form and I have it attached to the windscreen on its mounting clip just behind (or should that be in front ) of the mirror. It always seems to work so I'm happy to leave it there.

The only thing is to remember to hide it somewhere out of sight if the car is parked with the hood down.

We have been using a Sanef toll tag in our 4/4 for several years. The car has a heated windscreen and the tag is mounted up top near the rear view mirror. Never had a problem.

I've used a tag for maybe 15 years or so and in both Morgans (Roadster and +8) the tag doesn't work very well through the windscreen. So I keep it in the side pocket and hold it over the screen or out of the window.

I assume this is because there's not a heating element free space as there is with most cars behind the rear-view mirror.

Another tip...a few weeks before you depart log into your account and check your battery status of the Tag, It's sealed in but a full replacement Tag is easy to order and turns up in about a week

Just to add my two penn'orth, we've used the Sanef (Liber-T) tag on our 4/4 for many years without any problems at all. The car has the usual heated windscreen and the tag is mounted centrally on the inside of the screen, just above the central "lift the dot". I decided to put it there to help remind me to detach the tag from its bracket and lock it in the glovebox when leaving the car. You can easily order more brackets from the Sanef website to use on your other cars, should you want to take a non-Morgan across the Channel.

We just keep ours in the glove box and the boss holds it up as we approach the barrier
