Anyone fitted a wind blocker on their car yet, this drizzle coming into the cockpit from the back draft when you go through a puddle is starting to waz me off a bit. Not good for the leather when you clean all the time either, the Trad nor Aero ever did it any thought's. Em

Not fitted a wind block yet as nothing available off the shelf.. I do agree that it is needed on a Plus Six if driven in drizzle/puddle spray as it all gets sucked back into the cockpit and coats the interior... I was also considering a stainless roll bar, but again nothing available off the shelf at this point. I did quickly chat with Henry at Williams ref the roll bar last year and he said that they were considering it, but dont hold my breath on it coming quickly....

My Trad windblock uses the head restraint mounting pillars as the securing point for brackets. Brackets are easy enough to fashion from aluminium, and the windblock can be laser cut perspex. I kept the height just above the head restraints but it could be made a bit higher. Width is constrained by hood frame clearance. It works best with both seats in the same position and same recline, although that could be addressed by using spacers on one bracket. This way, no drilling of the car structure is needed. Since these images were taken I enlarged the perspex and no longer use edging, but you get the idea. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5979.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5988.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2017/07/12/IMG_5990.jpg)

I fitted one to my 4/4, then i sold it approx. 1 year later as i preferred the cleaner look without it.. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2020/08/31/5AD8DD52-95DA-4884-81B6-FC98BE531974.jpg)

I find it extremely interesting that the CX cars seem to suffer from the rear spray problem far more than other trads, and yet at first glance you wouldn't really think there was that much of a significant difference in the rear profile (or at least, I wouldn't).
Just goes to show this aerodynamics malarky is a bit of a tricky blighter I suppose.

Some of our greatest Morgan drives have been in the wet. To see the water from the front wheels stream around the front wings like a bow wave is spectacular. I prefer the roof down but there comes a point when without inside wipers, and glasses wipers it's just not safe. But our first drive home from the Dealer was in monsoon rain. And you can't tour Scotland without a few wet days. We've crossed GlenCoe twice in monsoons, and one time the wind was strong enough to lift the hood flaps and wet us properly. It's a lot of fun!

Just goes to show this aerodynamics malarky is a bit of a tricky blighter I suppose. I've always suspected it's caused by the much smoother underside of the CX chassis

I think you could be right Jon but nothing much came into the aero with a flat underneath allthough the cabin was much more like a cockpit and very snug. If you drive top down all the time as we do it spoil's a bit of the driving experience in what is otherwise a fantastic drivers car. I remember once changing the tyres on our Mondeo estate and the newer cheaper brand threw up much more drizzle over the back, something only a sale's rep doing big mileage would pick up but it's a fact. The "suck back" is bad with top down and when going along roads covered with sections of shallow standing water. This winters rainfall has resulted in a lot of overflow out of fields and across the roads in our area. I wear glasses and the incoming mist of puddle water even coats the glasses very quickly.. this is at road legal speeds... Just have to hope for coming good weather and dry roads, it will be something to look forward to..
