I seem to recall reading somewhere that the removal of the spare wheel on a Morgan and covering the hole, had a significant effect on air flow at the rear. Could that be the culprit? Unfortunately, cannot find it now!

Unfortunately, cannot find it now! I seem to recall this too, but of course the Plus Six doesn't have a spare. Was it that the problem was worse on Sport model Trads with the sealed rear panel? Maybe that was it.

I had a wind block on my Plus8 but had to remove it when the roll-bar was fitted. It had slot in brackers on the inside of side panels of the shelf area and a flap that fitted over the shelf area onto tonneau cover press studs. A handy cover for that area. It had some adjustment but not much. Not particularly effective but did reduce the backdraught. I still have it and am thinking of how to fit to the Plus Four. Having shorter versions using the headrest fittings would mean individual seat fitting rather than joining the seats together? The rake ( lack of) of the windscreen affects airflow resulting in a big swirl into the cockpit. I think the Aeros had more rake that would have helped. Maybe I will rig a temporary fit to test the wind block on the Plus Four.

I copied Dave’s idea of using the head rests for the attachments. A neat idea and should be adaptable to the bigger flatter CX headrests. They’re not that difficult to put to gether. I made this one for my first car but still used on the current. I’ve never use it whilst on my own but when the boss comes out in the cold mucky weather, it has to be on. It can be fitted in seconds and doesn’t take up much space when stowed behind the seats. A useful option. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/03/21/windblock87.jpeg)

With the Trad Plus 4 Supersport, I had an exceptionally strong suction effect from the rear, so that I always got a headache from the smelling exhaust fumes, which were not properly regulated. The car also had no spare wheel. However, I never noticed such a negative effect with our Roadster Sport from 2010, although the car didn't have a spare wheel either.

Could it be Heinz that you still have the suction effect on the 4/4 but as the catalytic converter is working properly you just don't smell it. All my later (after 2000) mogs definitely suffer from this. I could always smell the exhaust for the first 100 yards until the cat warmed up and got working. On one car I fitted a side exhaust which seemed to solve it. On my roadster I decided to fit a wind block. I had several tries using the headrest support but was never happy with the fact that seatback adjustment became difficult and there was a nagging safety worry with brackets just behind my neck. At the time I owned a BMW mini cooper convertible and it came with a folding wind block. Very neat it folded into a quarter of its double size. I applied it to the mog (which had the new easyfit hood) and it fitted well. Because it folded lengthwise if I set the upright part against the headrests the back part hinged and worked as a brilliant parcel shelf cover, disappearing into the folded hood and stopping anything flying off the parcel shelf. At the sides it had two rubber spring loaded prongs to fit into recesses in the mini design. I simply drilled two small holes in the wooden side rail of the easyfit hood, the prongs located there and it all looked entirely professional. Well worth investigating if you really need a wind block Nick

Nick, do you have any photos of the MINI one ? As it sounds rather professionally designed

This is the wind blocker from my wife's Mini. A good idea to use it for the Morgan too. I'll try out how it could be fitted to a CX. Nick a photo with the wind blocker mounted on your Morgan would be great. ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/03/24/IMG_3645.jpeg) ![[Linked Image]](https://tm-img.com/images/2024/03/24/IMG_3646.jpeg)

Mine looks similar to that. I've taken a few quick pics of it......I still have it even though I don't have the mini and it doesn't fit my older mog. It's not wide enough for a mog without the easy up hood.(I went back to an older style mog three years ago) Send me a pm with your email address and I'll send you the pics. I can't remember how to post them here and I'm off out for the day so don't have time to battle it.
