I read through the existing threads, but I'm confused as to whether the shocks were off the shelf used by other bikes or are/were they modified for the Morgan. What's the latest thoughts? Is there any one that has a set sitting on a shelf somewhere? If not Ohlins, are there other comparable alternatives? Thank you in advance for your help.

The Ohlins are custom made for the M3W using parts from a range of motorbike units.

They are available from M3WServices, Krazy Horse or for DIY fitting direct from BG Motorsport.

Other units are listed in the Alternative Parts list but if you can afford them you won't regret going for the Ohlins, they are superb.

I had MTW shock absorbers manufactured by this company (in France) :

Not that I'm aware of.

BG might be willing to ship to the Us, it's worth asking them.

Both Crazy Horse and M3W Services will ship to the US, I have used both. So does Garage 56 who also offered the Ohlins at one point (not sure if they still do them).

You save the VAT, but the shipping is not cheap.

These are not as good as the Ohlins - more comparable to other mid range offerings like ATR.
