Seeing the admiration for the machinery in the pics of Ewan's sojourn through the engineering marvels of Northern Italy, I wondered what the assembled wisdom might come up with in the way of pics of spectacular engines (wherever they may hail from)
Thought I'd kick it off with this little wonder from Ducati ๐
Lots more going on with the Aston motor ......twin distributors and two plugs per cylinder ... and each cylinder has a carb choke all to itself! ... if it were mine I think I'd have to polish those cam-covers though! ... one area the Jag definitely scores on in my book! ๐
16 sparkplugs, 8 inlet trumpets, 4 twin downdraft Webers, and 4 overhead camshafts; what more could you ask for?
Oh! Perhaps the car it was used in would be nice too!
This engine in various forms was developed and used in production from 1959 to 2002. My much loved 1967 Quattroporte had a single sparkplug version of this engine.
