Thanks Graham. Quite bizarre how it's dislodged a drive belt though confused2

Interesting spec to look like Brooklands Roadster.

It has the optional Rays alloys first seen on the AeroMax. These are 19" and take (rear) 245/35 ZR19.
Some models were offered with 18" using a higher profile sidewall.

You do have to be careful with the tyre pressures.

Well, it was repaired and happened again, this time on the autobahn.
I'm starting to wonder if that's a factory defect.
The car is not modified.
Exactly the same side and it seems to be exactly the same fault... experts have to evaluate this first.
The prevoius problem was reparied by authorised dealer.

We were lucky not to hit anything.

It does look awfully busy in that area as Alistair suggests. I wonder therefore if something is snagging the shock absorber. Would the dealer notice though if they haven't a car for comparison thinking

Unlikley.
Basically the whole part where the absorber connects to the car is gone.

That sounds like a close call on the Autobahn, someone was taking care of you.

Good luck with a proper repair.

Thank you!

Yes, thankfully, it was a slow part with 120 km/h (approximately 75 mph).

Before that, I was driving over 200 km/h (about 124 mph) on an unrestricted part.
So, luckily, it happened on the "slow" part.
