Quaife make good diffs (though how torsen diffs work is even more mysterious than a standard one 🙂) .... had one on my racecar ... due to space it was the model used for a standard classic mini ... however I put 200 horse through it and abused it on the track for years and it never missed a beat ..... . Do you know the model number? If the diff on my 4/4 ever went I'd probably go for one as a replacement.

I've got a Quaife ATB in my 4/4, it handles 165bhp with no trouble at all and is flippin' excellent. Billy Bellinger fitted it for me when he rebuilt my rear axle so I don't know the model number, but he had no problem getting one.

Their model number is QDH1M, made for the H7A rear end in a +8. Depending on your gearing, you might need a spacer for the ring gear. Mine has 4.56 gears, and Billy Bellinger supplied the spacer and shims for a fraction of what it would have cost to have them made over on this side of the pond.

Rainy day left me finishing off deep underneath clean. Discovered the handbrake cable outer was being knawed away by a rib on the BTR diff housing despite factory adding some thin protection to cable. Split some rubber hose slipped it over and secured with heavy duty cable ties. Will keep an eye on this though.

Oh the joy of the Cosworth engine! A wonderful thing to behold!

Richard, thought I'd just take the opportunity to add to your example of protecting the vulnerable areas of the hand brake cable.
My car seems to eat handbrake cables as it suffers from that dreaded common problem of the outer sheathing cracking up in the first few inches just outside the rear back plates' This allows water to penetrate to the inner cable and rust then eventual seizure/ snapping occurs. Previously I have used grease to lengthen the life of the cables but this attracts grit and as these things are a ridiculous price I looked for a better solution! So last time I used plumbing self amalgamating tape which I then covered with electrical insulating tape and sealed both ends with small cable ties.
Seems to be working well, no water ingress and the handbrake worked perfectly all last year! Thought others might like to try this cheap fix to extend the life of their cables and no MOT advisories either. I wonder whether it might be a good idea to apply this protection from new fitment as I have a feeling that the plastic sheathing might be breaking down from being pelted by road grit from the front wheels? Our Welsh roads are covered in loose surface debris so perhaps I suffer more than most.

Fitted a bespoke hood prop so filling the back is easier.
