If your really struggling - Brown wrapping paper over the poop / bug and ironing with a warm iron will soften the muck to make it easier to remove

It's good to see an increase of insects as a lot of birds rely on them for food and we rely on them to pollinate plants. The increase is probably down to the wet weather preventing farmers from spraying insecticide. ISTBC.

Thanks everyone for the ideas and advice.
It seems there is no "miracle" quick method without damaging the paintwork so I have decided to use a bug remover spray immediately on returning home and then wash the front of the car with my normal car shampoo to remove remove the residue.
I'm going to keep a shampoo mix permanently in a spray bottle so it's ready for use and the whole operation shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.
Then when I do my big cleans, I'll use a clay bar to remove any little baked on bits that the other methods haven't removed.
Perry, which Citrus Spray do you use. I might experiment with some different products over the summer bug season.

50/50 mix of fabric softener and water in a spray bottle, I think it was spanner juggler that originally suggested it, works for me.

I know it sounds crazy but, Baby Wipes work really well  Cheap and cheerful and easy to carry a pack in the car - just don't flush them when you're finished.....!!!  James

According to Roman legend, if you pee on the fly splatter, it’ll dissolve it and if you wipe dogs dirt on the bird poo, it’ll all fall off once it dries in, that’s why their fastest chariots always looked so good.
😊 please don’t try this, I might have made it all up to fool the gullible. Seriously though, if you spit on the fly splat, the enzymes will break it down.

This "personal sprinkling system" stops working when you reach a certain age. You simply can't achieve the Heineken range you used to when young. Remember the school toilet up the wall contests?
