Sorry no more pics. That's the Roadster seat when I took them out to sort the floors a while ago, so no dismantling required! You can see the C clips and if you look carefully you can see that the brown diaphragm is held to the frame with silver coloured S clips. If yours is like this, the chances are that you'll find the clips have pulled through the brown diaphragm, so that's the part you may have to replace. Rutters may have the parts in stock, so if you remove the seat it shouldn't take long to sort out.

Hi, I need to do this to my car to, so if you can do some pics while you do it that would be great. I have got the webbing already it was £30 from Allon White. Can you just re-use the old clips? Thanks, Will

Did mine without taking the seat cover off. Removed the seat pad, put in a series of eyelets along both sides of the split and cable tied them together after fitting the pad back into place. Works really well and very strong. I did take a photo but unsure how to upload.

They'll stress if you kneel on the seat. I've used the Dunlop webbing, made my own c-hooks from scrap metal coat hangers, and now reverted to using used/redundant inner tube rubber, wrapped round the tube frame, pulled tight and stapled. You could trampoline on my seats now if the urge took you

I have noticed that the rear part of my seat seems to have collapsed. Feeling underneath I can feel some loose webbing. I can't imagine why, perhaps it says something about my appetite for good Italian food. Another "little" job to do in the next couple of weeks. I will try to remember to take some photos.

I was about to go on a short holiday to France when I realised my seat webbing had collapsed. With no time to get a replacement, and not wanting to be uncomfortable, I took out the seat and lashed a load of 2mm strimmer filament back and forth between the seat rails, thinking it would do until I could get round to replacing it properly. That was in 2005, so I'm thinking it's about time I did a proper job of it.
