What does the mot regs say i wonder.
I found this but I can't see anything on using the foot brake first.

I wonder if this extract from MOT regs could be used to effect an MOT Pass.

Hydraulic parking brakes as an only means of operation are not acceptable on vehicles first used on or after 1 January 1968. However, they may be used to assist the application or release of a mechanical brake.

Possibly. I'm not sure how the test is done. I know I usually have my foot on the prake before applying the hand brake

Reading the test it seems to be dynamic on rollers and the hand brake only, so no footbarke before

I watch my tester doing the brake test because I want to see the side to side performance in case there's a noticeable difference. The fronts are first done together, then individually. The rears would be the same but not with an LSD, they need to be done together. The handbrake is then pulled. It's interesting to watch the lights cascade along the measure. They are never bang on, but normally not very far apart. A sticking piston or cylinder is obvious.
